Why Do You Want to Use Running to Lose Weight?

There are many reasons why people want to use running to lose weight but the most common are to either have a more attractive appearance or to become a healthier person.

You may want to have both but please take a moment to consider which you value the most.

Is your main aim to look better or to become healthier?

If you said that you want to look better then that’s perfectly normal. In fact around two out of every three of people will say the exact same thing.

Although this is understandable it’s also a little disappointing because there’s so much more to running and weight loss than improving your appearance.

Running will not only help you reach your desired weight and help make you look better but it can also dramatically improve the quality of your life.

Your physical and mental health can vastly improve and that’s why I believe that the massive health benefits of running are more life changing than the benefit of looking better.

There’s no doubting that as you lose weight and your appearance improves it’s going to feel great and you’ll feel more confident and happy about yourself but…

Over time you’ll get used to your new appearance and it will soon become the norm.

The joy and novelty factor of being able to fit into your favourite clothes again or shopping for smaller size clothes will gradually wear off, and the compliments about your improved appearance will fade away.

On the other hand, the physical and mental health benefits of running can stay with you for life.

You can experience many benefits such as:

  • Gaining more confidence and self esteem
  • Feeling a tremendous sense of achievement
  • Feeling less stress in your life
  • Being able to carry out daily tasks with ease
  • Feeling more energetic and alive
  • Having a more positive state of mind
  • Having a more positive and consistent mood
  • Being able to sleep better
  • Having a decreased risk of suffering from illness and disease

The best thing is that you won’t experience just one of these benefits. You’re very likely to benefit from every single one of them…

That’s why using running to lose weight and improve your health is very powerful.

The overall major health benefit of running is that it helps you live longer and ALL the years of your life are likely to be of a higher quality.

Just think about that for a second…

Every single day of your life being of a higher quality!

Most people don’t realise this.

They haven’t been able to envision or experience the massive physical and mental health benefits that running provides because they either haven’t given running a try or they haven’t been running for long enough.

That’s why many people put more emphasis on using running to lose weight in order to look better rather than to improve their health.

The great news with running is that you can have both. You can have the improved appearance along with the massive physical and mental health benefits.

I sincerely hope this article has given you even more reason and more motivation to use running to lose weight.
